White-faced gibbons have been living in the new breeding-exhibition facility for several weeks. They gradually get used to the new environment, which offers them much more space. But there are gibbons again even in the old premises. These are two young males who were brought to Ostrava from the Liberec Zoo, where they are preparing to renovate the space for these rare primates. another species has been added to the new walk-through aviary La Pampa in the Ostrava Zoological Garden and Botanical Park - the green cardinal. We have been breeding royal condors at the zoo since 1970. In 2017, after almost 50 long years, the first cub of this most brightly colored condor was finally born. The new exposition was opened in 2022.



 



Lion macaques have been bred by the Ostrava Zoo since 1978. All this time, these rare and endangered primates lived in relatively cramped spaces without natural vegetation.
