Svatá Hora is one of the most important places of pilgrimage in Central Europe. There are thousands of pilgrims coming to Svatá Hora every year to venerate the Mother of God, to pray to her, and to thank her.vatá Hora is situated 60 km south-west from Prague in the town of Příbram(see the map).

Arriving to Příbram by car or your own bus, follow the signs for Svatá Hora. Cars and buses are not allowed to go up to the sanctuary. They have to be left under the hill at a large car park which is situated in Balbínova Street, 200m far from the place of pilgrimage (see themap, the dark blue way). If there is a car or a bus with old people having problems with movement, they are allowed to go up to Svatá Hora. Having got out, the drivers, however, have to leave the car or the bus in the car park. Having finished the visit to Svatá Hora, pilgrims comfortably reach the car park on foot.

It is possible to leave the vehicle in a car park in the town centre (at best in the T. G. Masaryk square, by St James Church), and to go up to the place of pilgrimage through the Staircase of Svatá Hora leading direct into Svatá Hora (see the map, the red way). The Staircase is about 400m long, and is open every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the summer time and from 8 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. in the winter time

If you come from Prague to Příbram by coach, get out at the stop Jiráskovy sady. You can approach the place of pilgrimage either on foot (see the map, the light blue way), or take the bus No. 12 or 13 in the direction of Svatá Hora. The buses No. 12 and 13 daily go up to the sanctuary, and stop in Jiráskovy sady as well. The tickets are available also from the bus driver.

If you arrive in Příbram by train, you can take the bus No. 12 or No. 13 in the direction of Svatá Hora. The buses No. 12 and 13 daily go up to the sanctuary, and stop in the Čs. armády Street, at the pond called Dolejší Obora (see the bus route). The tickets are available also from the bus driver.

Opening hours

Svatá Hora is open from Monday to Saturday from 5.45 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday from 5.45 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. The place of pilgrimage is accessible for everyone.

Masses and your pilgrimage

You can find the Mass times here. The Masses are read in Czech.

If you visit Svatá Hora as a group of pilgrims, you can have your own Mass(with your priest) or a devotion except for the times of regular Masses in the sanctuary. It is possible to say the Stations of the Cross in the nearby park. The arrangement with the administration of Svatá Hora is necessary in order to register your pilgrimage. Please, fill inthis form.
